Freelance translators and future full time positions for Centers in Sosua (Dominican Republic), Barcelona (Spain), or Los Angeles (Santa Monica), USA*
Talented individuals with a college degree who can translate into their native language from the main languages of the Internet: English (UK & US), German, French, Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. The ideal candidates must have at least a year's experience in the translation industry and/or a degree in translation, and be able to deliver high quality work under very tight deadlines. Preference will be given to candidates with additional expertise and/or experience in one of the following fields: software, Internet, IT, Telecom, construction, hardware, and financial services. Ability to use or desire to learn Computer-Aided Translation Tools such as TRADOS Suite is fundamental. Knowledge of HTML, editing tools (Photoshop), and DTP software (Frame Maker, Quark) will be an asset.
*Only Translators for Asian Languages (Japanese, Chinese, Korean) are needed in Los Angeles.
The following full-time positions are currently available:
Full time translator
English to French and English to Spanish. These positions are to be filled in one of our production center located in the Caribbean, in the Dominican Republic. The duration is for unlimited time with a minimum stay envisioned of 1 to 2 years.
We are looking for professional translators with a minimum of 2 years experience and demonstrated mastery in their language pair and ability to use common CAT tools and operate in a fast pace working environment.
Our clients are mainly Fortune 500 companies in the USA, leaders in their fields, IT, Telecom, Software, Medical, Legal, Finance and Consumer Products . In addition, we are a premier partner of Trados. We also do non-profit work for various Foundations.
The translators will be able to put into practice the following translation-related processes:
- Website localization
- Adobe Framemaker, PhotoShop
- Help localization: including web help, screenshots and QA of applications
- Project management related activites
Our translation projects are extremely varied: we perform many marketing brochures, press releases, market research related projects (translation and back translation of online surveys and responses), Website localization, software localization. If the translator desires, he/she can also participate in the language classes we provide in Spanish or French.
